"I believe that babooshies already dwell somewhere long before I sculpt them from a clump of clay. I don't only mean in my imagination, but that they live out there waiting to naughtily sneak into my mind and finally come to life and end up on my shelf watching over my shoulder."
Babooshies are loose tea or coffee (or other loose goodies) holders, each of them individually and carefully handsculpted from clay and covered in glaze. Naive and mildly mischievous creatures, they have their roots in mossy forests, but are presently living among us and watching over our busy lifestyles.
Babooshies have a sweet tooth and are particularly keen on candy and pancakes.
Each babooshi has a characteristic pair of pointy ears and a short cone-shaped tail, a snout and watchful bulging eyes. Each cap is a removable top of the holder for storing tea, coffee or other loose goodies.
Occasional slight imperfections and marks left by the handcrafting process make each babooshi a unique and charming personality inviting you to a hot cup of your favourite drink.
Babooshies are slightly bigger than an average mug, 12-14 cm (4.7-5.5 in) tall, 9 (3.5 in) cm wide. Made from clay, glazed in different colours, inside glaze is food-safe. Bases are left unglazed.
